The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Carlos Alberto Brodel came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Arcadas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Alberto Brodel couldn't finish the play. If Carlos Alberto Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Arcadas FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Carlos Fernando de Senna hit a great ball. If Carlos Alberto Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zeca Cunha hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Diogo Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Dantas having to interfere. Carlos Fernando de Senna hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Manolo Magalhães took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jeferson de Almeida. Jeferson de Almeida dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Jeferson de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cacá Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diogo Maia made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Maia in the 63rd minute of play forced Ibiacu SC's goalkeeper Anselmo Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thomás Montenegro's late challenge caught a Ibiacu SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thomás Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Arcadas FC's Thomás Montenegro got a free kick in the 65th minute. Manolo Magalhães in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jeferson de Almeida, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Ibiacu SC's Cacá Araújo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jeferson de Almeida. That made the score 1-2 after 68 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cacá Araújo in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeferson de Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th minute, Erivaldo Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cacá Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeferson de Almeida having to interfere. Manolo Magalhãess short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Jeferson de Almeida to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Carlos Alberto Brodel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Anselmo Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Diogo Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ibiacu SC's zone, Diogo Maia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Dantas came out of the goal and Diogo Maia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th minute, Carlos Fernando de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeferson de Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chants of Ibiacu SC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Arcadas FC had held the ball for most of the match.
