After having played for 6 minutes, Caio Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Assis FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caio Baiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmílson Nogueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil da Mata read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Serginho Medeiros hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Edmílson Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Linhares in the 16th minute of play forced Roma's goalkeeper Willian Barreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richard Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willian Barreto having to interfere. In the 21stth minute of the game Richard Linhares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Roma's Willian Barreto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Caio Baiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Willian Barreto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Assis FC's goalkeeper Gil da Mata had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmílson Nogueira. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Assis FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lúcio Pereira was slow to take the kick. During this time Roma's players had a chance to rest. 30 minutes into the game, one of Assis FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 31 minutes, Roma's Lúcio Pereira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gil da Mata. Richard Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arthur Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Arthur Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roma's supporters rose to their feet, but Arthur Fernandes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil da Mata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caio Baiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Edmílson Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roma's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmílson Nogueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gil da Mata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gláuber Quadros kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Assis FC's zone, Edmílson Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil da Mata came out of the goal and Edmílson Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Roma's Willian Barreto got control of the ball when Richard Linhares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edmílson Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil da Mata having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Caio Baiano came free, but Willian Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Arthur Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edmílson Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil da Mata having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Assis FC's Gláuber Quadros got a free kick in the 79th minute. Gil da Mata stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arthur Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. A collision led to Assis FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Orlando Travassos hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Edmílson Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roma's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
