The crowd rose to their feet as Quarteis's Reginaldo Berger slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Willian Barreto. That made the score 1-1 after 11 minutes of play. In the 16th minute, Arthur Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Willian Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Veiga in the 19th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Arthur Fernandes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Digo Rosado was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. With his leg Willian Barreto managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Quarteis's Reginaldo Berger fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel Veiga to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Valdir Alagoano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Quarteis booed when Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdir Alagoano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Willian Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Reginaldo Berger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Willian Barreto. Roma's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reginaldo Berger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quarteis's goalkeeper Digo Rosado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 82nd match minute, Quarteis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorginho Neiva to maneuver through the defense. Gabriel Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorginho Neiva might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Willian Barreto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorginho Neiva ran back to his position shaking his head. For all the effort they put into the match, the Roma players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Quarteis.
