After a rather tough play, Quarteis's Jorginho Neiva got a free kick in the 7th minute. Reginaldo Berger who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Gil da Mata when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Quarteis's zone, Caio Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Digo Rosado came out of the goal and Caio Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reginaldo Pernambucano hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, Richard Linhares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Reginaldo Berger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quarteis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Assis FC the free kick. After 29 played minutes Quarteis got a freekick which was hit by Reginaldo Berger. Reginaldo Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quarteis were furious when Ronaldo Moura was red carded, 37 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Digo Rosado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After the first half Assis FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reginaldo Berger made a kick off. Quarteis's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Caio Baiano 54 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. With a little luck, Quarteis's Digo Rosado got control of the ball when Richard Linhares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gil da Mata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 82 minutes, Richard Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Assis FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Quarteis's zone, Caio Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Digo Rosado came out of the goal and Caio Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 85th minute, Jorginho Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Richard Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginaldo Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The Quarteis supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Assis FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Assis FC.
