Edgard Vidal scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldão Viana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Reginopolis getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Júlio Quaresma hit a great ball. In the 19th minute Raimundo Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Marialva AD's Raimundo Madureira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Lima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rodriguinho Bezerra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Luiz Lima made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Raimundo Madureira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Lima was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. He walked away shaking his head. If Edgard Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Edgard Vidal sped through Marialva AD's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ronaldão Viana. The supporters of Reginopolis booed when Marialva AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chicão Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Emerson Goiano notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Marialva AD's Ronaldão Viana. Ronaldão Viana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Reginopolis were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgard Vidal to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Agnaldo Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the match, Rodriguinho Bezerra notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Reginopolis's Luiz Lima. Luiz Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Raimundo Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Reginopolis players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
