Nildo Loyola could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Geovanni Moreira made a huge save. Fábio Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elivélton Dantas in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Falcão Paraense saved Sertaneja SS from getting behind. Ramiro Vinhas hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Sertaneja SS's Edgar Arantes got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 21st minute, Eliseu Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Falcão Paraense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elivélton Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Falcão Paraense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aleandro Pimenta in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Cruz in the 38th minute of play forced Taquarucu's goalkeeper Geovanni Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nildo Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Falcão Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aleandro Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. With his leg Geovanni Moreira managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Sertaneja SS's Nildo Loyola fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Nildo Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sertaneja SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Nildo Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geovanni Moreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aleandro Pimenta to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Taquarucu's zone, Donatello Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovanni Moreira came out of the goal and Donatello Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aleandro Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Paraense having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sertaneja SS's zone, Aleandro Pimenta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Falcão Paraense came out of the goal and Aleandro Pimenta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aleandro Pimenta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd match minute, Taquarucu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aleandro Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Sertaneja SS's Fábio Cruz got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 78th minute, Nildo Loyola left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sertaneja SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Waldir Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, Taquarucu's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Cruz came free, but Geovanni Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sertaneja SS fully deserved thier win.
