An unexpected shot in the 3rd minute by Pedro Luiz Moraes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 5th minute, Vicente Campidelis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Waldir Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson Araújo having to interfere. Jefferson Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Novaes in the 17th minute of play. Geovânio Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gernando Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Pedro Luiz Moraes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Serginho Ferreira made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Pedro Luiz Moraes sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th minute Waldir Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jefferson Araújo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Geovânio Duarte notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Caraguata SC's Serginho Ferreira. Serginho Ferreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Waldir Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Geovânio Duarte took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Serginho Ferreira. Serginho Ferreira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Marquinhos Baiano hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 64 minutes into the match, Geovânio Duarte notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Caraguata SC's Serginho Ferreira. Serginho Ferreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 69th minute, one of Caraguata SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Caraguata SC. The referee gave Itaipe a penalty, 71 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Doni Pernambucano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Caraguata SC's Serginho Ferreira. 4-1. Geovânio Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Serginho Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Caraguata SC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Itaipe:s goal. Serginho Ferreira had in the 82ndth minute some difficulties stopping Doni Pernambucano's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Jefferson Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredinho Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. When Victor Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Caraguata SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Novaes couldn't finish the play. If Pedro Luiz Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 90 minutes of play, Itaipe's Pedro Luiz Moraes made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Serginho Ferreira was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Itaipe booed when Caraguata SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelson Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serginho Ferreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Luiz Moraes's shot from short distance in the 100th minute. Itaipe were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Caraguata SC for a fine match.
