The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luizão Rosado during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 9 minutes into the match, Paquevira's goal looked a bit too open when Tibúrcio Gaúcho came free, but Victor Faria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hílton Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vágner Albuquerque, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Tibúrcio Gaúcho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Victor Faria. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. Victor Faria was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luizão Rosado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. Hílton Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vágner Albuquerque in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Adalberto Reis got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Luziania's Luizão Rosado got a free kick in the 40th minute. Tibúrcio Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Victor Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tibúrcio Gaúcho was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Paquevira's Zé Carlos de Godoy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hílton Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tibúrcio Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Victor Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Luziania's Agenor de Sena got a free kick in the 57th minute. Adalberto Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Tibúrcio Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luziania's supporters rose to their feet, but Tibúrcio Gaúcho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Faria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adalberto Reis scored 4-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Victor Faria, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vágner Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Montenegro having to interfere.
