In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guarauna SS's goalkeeper Adalmo Hermes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Rodolfo Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Pedro Luiz da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mateus Paraíba charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mateus Paraíba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th minute Rodolfo Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adalmo Hermes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Berger in the 46th minute of play forced Guarauna SS's goalkeeper Adalmo Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erik Pimenta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Aleandro Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Adalmo Hermes managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Soccorro's Luís Berger fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 62 minutes into the match, Luís Berger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adalmo Hermes. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Luís Berger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soccorro's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Berger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adalmo Hermes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Paulo Lago came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Guarauna SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Lago couldn't finish the play.
