Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Marombas's Régis Chaves started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Raúl Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Britto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Frédson Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute Jano Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúl Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Leopoldo Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 12 minutes, Claudinei Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paranari SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Britto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 12 minutes of play, Paranari SS's Jano Lara made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Raúl Batista was left in no man's land by his defense there! Frédson Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Armandinho Meirelles made a huge save. In the 22nd minute, Paranari SS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Frédson Barreto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Chaves in the 23rd minute of play forced Paranari SS's goalkeeper Armandinho Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frédson Barreto struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Armandinho Meirelles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marombas. In the 32nd minute Claudinei Britto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúl Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 34 minutes of play, Paranari SS's Jano Lara made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armandinho Meirelles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Frédson Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frédson Barreto got free with Armandinho Meirelles in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paranari SS's Claudinei Britto got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudinei Britto was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Paranari SS's Claudinei Britto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Raúl Batista. Raúl Batista yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marombas's goalkeeper Raúl Batista, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Manfredo Marinho hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. When Marombas's Régis Chaves in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paranari SS's goalie prevented a goal. Marombas's Raúl Batista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Marombas from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Marombas's zone, Claudinei Britto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raúl Batista came out of the goal and Claudinei Britto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raúl Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Britto, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When Claudinei Britto came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Paranari SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudinei Britto couldn't finish the play. If Frédson Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Marombas's Ernani Nóbrega got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Osvaldinho Travassos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Régis Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Armandinho Meirelles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Osmar Pires hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Raúl Batista made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Jano Lara sent off a good shot on target. 97 minutes into the match, Marombas's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinei Britto came free, but Raúl Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Paranari SS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Paranari SS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
