Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Inácio Paraíba started the match with the kick off. After 2 played minutes Uruguinha EC got a freekick which was hit by Romeu Matos. André Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugênio Correia having to interfere. Uruguinha EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Caco Linares scored to the left of an out of position Eugênio Correia, making the score, 1-0. Adolfo Marinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eugênio Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inácio Paraíba in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Uruguinha EC's Romeu Matos got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 37th match minute, Fao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. Uruguinha EC's Iuri Vinhas managed to work through Fao's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Iuri Vinhas dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Bernardo Aguiar hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. If Iuri Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inácio Paraíba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iuri Vinhas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Claudinei Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iuri Vinhas in the 54th minute of play. Caco Linares might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eugênio Correia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Caco Linares ran back to his position shaking his head. Eugênio Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Linares, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 63rd minute, Ernani Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iuri Vinhas was extremely unlucky when he, in the 67th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Adolfo Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Claudinei Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Iuri Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the game, André Mello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguinha EC the free kick. In the 81st match minute, Fao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caco Linares to maneuver through the defense. If Adolfo Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Tasso having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 87 minutes, Claudinei Tasso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Iuri Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iuri Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Claudinei Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iuri Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Many of Uruguinha EC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Uruguinha EC may have spent more time on the ball, but Fao were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
