Sabino Varela charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sabino Varela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee gave Fangueiro a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Falcão Arósio, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Caruru's Andrézinho da Mata. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Borges in the 9th minute of play forced Caruru's goalkeeper Andrézinho da Mata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Allan Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. João de Carvalho was a little too slow when Benedito Zanette got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 1-1. After 19 minutes, Ernesto Linares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fangueiro and the Caruru players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th minute, Ernesto Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benedito Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João de Carvalho having to interfere. If Luiz Gustavo Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Gustavo Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benedito Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nelsinho Toscano charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nelsinho Toscano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Andrézinho da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benedito Zanette stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Falcão Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. João de Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedito Zanette in the 56th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fangueiro's zone, Luiz Gustavo Peixoto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João de Carvalho came out of the goal and Luiz Gustavo Peixoto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute Benedito Zanette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João de Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caruru were furious when Jeremias Romero was red carded, 64 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 63 minutes into the game, one of Caruru:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Falcão Arósio shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Allan Borges blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andrézinho da Mata having to make a save. If Celsinho Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celsinho Torres during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th match minute, Caruru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celsinho Torres to maneuver through the defense. Armando da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Andrézinho da Mata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armando da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Allan Borges came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Fangueiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Allan Borges couldn't finish the play. Luiz Gustavo Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João de Carvalho having to interfere.
