The coaching staff of Lobo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bernardinho Maranhense had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. One of Lobo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Catadupas:s goal. 88 minutes into the match, Catadupas's Alexandre Leal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zé Vergílio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alexandre Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Zé Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Catadupas left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lobo.
