Vitinho da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Maia having to interfere. After 4 played minutes Guaramirim SS got a freekick which was hit by Abel Fernandes. Vágner Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitinho da Fonseca in the 5th minute of play. If Vitinho da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abolicao's Rodrigo Machado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Abolicao from getting a goal against them. Válter Salgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Rodrigo Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abel Fernandes kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vitinho da Fonseca in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vágner Maia saved Guaramirim SS from getting behind. If Vitinho da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 37 minutes, Nelsinho Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abolicao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelsinho Gaúcho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arlindo Maia's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 45thth minute, Rodrigo Machado skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Vitinho da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Maia having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Osvaldo Silva made the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes of play, Guaramirim SS's Arlindo Maia made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodrigo Machado was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 61stth minute of the game Osvaldo Silva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guaramirim SS's Vágner Maia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Abolicao's zone, Válter Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodrigo Machado came out of the goal and Válter Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abolicao's Osvaldo Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 70th minute by Vitinho da Fonseca got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Osvaldo Silva came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Abolicao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Silva couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Guaramirim SS's Vágner Maia got control of the ball when Vitinho da Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vitinho da Fonseca in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vágner Maia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Vitinho da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Maia having to interfere. Rodrigo Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válter Salgado in the 83rd minute of play. After 84 minutes of play, Abolicao's Vitinho da Fonseca made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vágner Maia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Despite being the better team, Abolicao failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
