In the 6th minute of the match, José Augusto Secco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vágner Maia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Vágner Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josué Damião in the 8th minute of the match. After 10 minutes, Pedro Luiz Maia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ipuca SC and the Guaramirim SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. If José Augusto Secco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulinho Salgado during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Guaramirim SS getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Paulinho Salgado hit a great ball. Guilherme Matos kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. When Alexandre Breckenfeld came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Ipuca SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Breckenfeld couldn't finish the play. Vágner Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josué Damião, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Duarte Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válter Salgado in the 34th minute of the match. When Luciano Dracena fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipuca SC's protests and gave Luciano Dracena a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th match minute, Ipuca SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Dracena to maneuver through the defense. Josué Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Augusto Seccos short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Vágner Maia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guaramirim SS's goalkeeper Vágner Maia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Guaramirim SS's zone, José Augusto Secco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vágner Maia came out of the goal and José Augusto Secco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Augusto Secco struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Vágner Maia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipuca SC. Vágner Maia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Josué Damião showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 49 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Josué Damião to strike the kick off in the second half. José Augusto Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Maia having to interfere. A collision led to Guaramirim SS getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Paulinho Salgado hit a great ball. In the 60thth minute of the game Josué Damião who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guaramirim SS's Vágner Maia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Guaramirim SS's Sílvio Luís Dantas got a free kick in the 67th minute. Josué Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Vágner Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th match minute, Ipuca SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Maia to maneuver through the defense. Ipuca SC's supporters rose to their feet, but José Augusto Secco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vágner Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee ended the match the Ipuca SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
