In the 21st minute, Cafu Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Aleandro Brodel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maribondo EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Imbau the free kick. Aleandro Brodel kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. When Albertinho Urbano came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Imbau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albertinho Urbano couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beto Pires made a kick off. Fiori Peres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertinho Urbano in the 52nd minute of play. Imbau's Beto Pires got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cafu Monteiro in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francisco Bittencourt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Beto Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot. Imbau's supporters rose to their feet, but Beto Pires was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fiori Peres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Imbau booed when Maribondo EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Imbau's goalkeeper Francisco Bittencourt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Duarte Paraíba. Fiori Peres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beto Pires in the 84th minute of play. Duarte Paraíba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Francisco Bittencourt made a huge save. Aílton Simão got his second yellow card in the match during the 87th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Imbau's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Cafu Monteiro scored to the left of an out of position Francisco Bittencourt, making the score, 0-2. Francisco Bittencourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cafu Monteiro in the 93rd minute of the match. If Aleandro Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
