Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when José Vítor Salgado got the match started through his kick off. Cafu Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fiori Peres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deivid Batista in the 10th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Nilson Cordeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Miritizal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maribondo EC the free kick. In the 15th minute, Nilson Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, Miritizal's goal looked a bit too open when Cafu Monteiro came free, but Gildo de Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Nilson Cordeiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 29 minutes had been played. The supporters of Maribondo EC booed when Miritizal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maribondo EC's Álvaro Dantas shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 30th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gildo de Brito but with some difficulty. Cafu Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gildo de Brito having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Cafu Monteiro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Gildo de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Prata, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cafu Monteiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adriano Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiori Peres having to interfere. Duarte Paraíba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th minute, Cafu Monteiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maribondo EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 74th play minute Deivid Batista came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fiori Peres. 2-1. Gildo de Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cafu Monteiro in the 79th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Miritizal's zone, Cafu Monteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gildo de Brito came out of the goal and Cafu Monteiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Adriano Borges fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miritizal's protests and gave Adriano Borges a yellow card for diving instead. In the 88th match minute, Miritizal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Borges to maneuver through the defense. Duarte Paraíba struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Gildo de Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maribondo EC. Maribondo EC's Oscar Vinhas suffered a concussion in the 97th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Bebeto Prado charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bebeto Prado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 97th minute, Bebeto Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. For all the effort they put into the match, the Miritizal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Maribondo EC.
