In the 17th minute Roberto Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Saraiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oswaldo Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juarês Schmidt, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Anselmo Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Oswaldo Pontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Bernardo Brodel fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Calcado's protests and gave Bernardo Brodel a yellow card for diving instead. Baguacu AD's Edson Barreto couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Calcado. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Roberto Gaúcho took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Donato Saraiva to make any attempt to save it. If Anselmo Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baguacu AD's Donato Saraiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Gaúcho in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roberto Gaúcho to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Calcado's goalkeeper Oswaldo Pontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anselmo Mello. In the 57th minute of the match Silas Negri shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donato Saraiva showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Oswaldo Pontes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 72 minutes into the game, Calcado's José Prestes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donato Saraiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Ronaldão Neves hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match.
