After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Zé Paulo Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colona's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Paulo Passos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Jubai booed when Colona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Colona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jubai the free kick. After 26 played minutes Colona got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Coelho. Jubai's Fernando Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Passos in the 28th minute of play. Zé Paulo Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Fernando Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rdth minute of the game Vitório Trigo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Colona's Hélder Sampaio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fernando Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Paulo Passos in the 35th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Jubai's Enrique Seco got a free kick in the 39th minute. After having played for 44 minutes, Zé Paulo Passos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Paulo Passos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Colona's Wilson Paiva pulled a muscle in his leg after 46 minutes and couldn't finish the game.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Paulo Passos made a kick off. With a little luck, Jubai's Fernando Costa got control of the ball when Zé Paulo Passos tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Fernando Costa managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Colona's Zé Paulo Passos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Colona's Zé Paulo Passos got a free kick in the 61st minute. The supporters of Colona booed when Jubai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremias Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jorginho Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Colona's Zé Paulo Passos got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 77th minute, Waldemar Damião hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jeremias Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the game, Colona's Zé Paulo Passos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernando Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Clemente Coelho hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Zé Paulo Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélder Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 92 minutes into the game, Marquinhos Coutinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Colona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jubai the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, Colona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos Coutinho to maneuver through the defense. Jubai's Fernando Costa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Jubai from getting a goal against them. Clemente Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Fernando Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Jubai getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Frank Pombal hit a great ball. Colona played a much better game than Jubai and deserved their victory. The Jubai players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
