The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gugu Pirani charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gugu Pirani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Campinarana AD's Gugu Pirani got a free kick in the 6th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Severiano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Ramalho came free, but Rubinho Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Pirani in the 16th minute of play forced Severiano FC's goalkeeper Rubinho Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. William Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Narciso Meirelles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovanni Guedes in the 24th minute of play forced Campinarana AD's goalkeeper Narciso Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovanni Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Meirelles having to interfere. Narciso Meirelles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Novaes in the 39th minute of play. Giovanni Guedes in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Narciso Meirelles, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, William Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Severiano FC's supporters rose to their feet, but William Novaes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Meirelles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giovanni Guedes got free with Narciso Meirelles in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when William Novaes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If William Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, William Novaes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. William Novaes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Narciso Meirelles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emílio Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Rubinho Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Marco Silveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Severiano FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Campinarana AD the free kick. The supporters of Campinarana AD booed when Severiano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. William Novaes struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Narciso Meirelles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Severiano FC. Giovanni Guedes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Cássio Pirani had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rubinho Cunha. Severiano FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cássio Pirani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 96 minutes into the game, Severiano FC's William Novaes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Narciso Meirelles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Severiano FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Campinarana AD to leave the ground with a draw.
