Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Roger Soares started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Elias das Neves fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Areia's protests and gave Elias das Neves a yellow card for diving instead. Elias das Neves hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. 6 minutes into the match, Areia's goalkeeper Christiano Batista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valério Nogueira. After a defensive mix-up in Passarinho SS's zone, Elias das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Quirino came out of the goal and Elias das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roger Soares during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Roger Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the game, Areia's Nelson Passos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Giovanni Quirino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Areia's Vitinho Nascimento in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Passarinho SS's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nelson Passos in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giovanni Quirino saved Passarinho SS from getting behind. Nelson Passos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giovanni Quirino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Giovanni Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitinho Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlinhos Hoffmann's late challenge caught a Passarinho SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlinhos Hoffmann helped the player get up and apologised. After 26 played minutes Areia got a freekick which was hit by Carlinhos Hoffmann. Edvaldo Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Nelson Passos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd minute, Elias das Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nelson Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Giovanni Quirino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nelson Passos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Quirino having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, Nelson Passos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Giovanni Quirino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nelson Passos made a kick off. Vitinho Nascimento who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Giovanni Quirino when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Giovanni Quirino made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Vitinho Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. Vitinho Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vitinho Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Quirino having to interfere. Rubinho Saldanha might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Giovanni Quirino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rubinho Saldanha ran back to his position shaking his head. Vitinho Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Passarinho SS's Moisés Maciel got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Nelson Passos struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Giovanni Quirino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Areia. With a little luck, Passarinho SS's Giovanni Quirino got control of the ball when Vitinho Nascimento tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Nelson Passos came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Areia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nelson Passos couldn't finish the play. Giovanni Quirino came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Areia's Rubinho Saldanha. But to his dismay, Rubinho Saldanha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Areia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
