But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guga Vieira couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute, Tijucopapo EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jerônimo Branco fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Samuel de Alcântara's late challenge caught a Patriarca SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuel de Alcântara helped the player get up and apologised. When Ronaldinho Santos fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Patriarca SS's protests and gave Ronaldinho Santos a yellow card for diving instead. If Zézinho Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sílvio Luís Campidelis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 34thth minute of the game Valdemar Meireles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Patriarca SS's Sílvio Luís Campidelis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Valdemar Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luís Campidelis having to interfere. After 40th play minutes Valdemar Meireles shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Sílvio Luís Campidelis and just under the crossbar into goal. Sílvio Luís Campidelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Meireles in the 52nd minute of the match. Tijucopapo EC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nuno de Queiroz in the 55th minute. After a rather tough play, Patriarca SS's Elivélton Freire got a free kick in the 59th minute. Valdemar Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Sílvio Luís Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kauã Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Meira having to interfere. Ian Meira came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Patriarca SS's Guga Vieira. But to his dismay, Guga Vieira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Sílvio Luís Campidelis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. When Jerônimo Branco, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 69 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ian Meira was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristian Rosa during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zézinho Bezerra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Sílvio Luís Campidelis made a huge save. Valdemar Meireles scored 2-3 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sílvio Luís Campidelis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 86th minute, Guga Vieira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Valdemar Meireles came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Tijucopapo EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdemar Meireles couldn't finish the play. The Tijucopapo EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tijucopapo EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
