Vermelha were furious when Gernando Almeida was red carded, 3 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Tostão Pinheiro walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 10 minutes into the game, Frank de Queirós cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Narciso Alcântara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Narciso Alcântara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank de Queirós in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute Norberto Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Zanette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vermelha's Narciso Alcântara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Vermelha from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Vermelha getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Haroldo Lago hit a great ball. Norberto Mangueira struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Pedro Zanette didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vermelha. If Didi Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Zanette showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino de Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Dino de Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Zanette having to interfere. If Norberto Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dino de Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Emílio Souza made a great header on Vermelha's corner, it was just that Carobinha FC's Pedro Zanette managed to reach the ball for a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Túlio Moreira was the one to do the kick off. Narciso Alcântara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Túlio Moreira went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 68th minute, Túlio Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frank de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erasmo Alcântara's late challenge caught a Carobinha FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erasmo Alcântara helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st minute, Erasmo Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Carobinha FC's Túlio Moreira in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vermelha's goalie prevented a goal.
