Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Digo Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marfinzeiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Digo Moreno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Décio Tróia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Duarte Sampaio fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poti SS's protests and gave Duarte Sampaio a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 played minutes Poti SS got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Sampaio. In the 9th minute, Valdo Nóbrega sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Poti SS's Décio Tróia didn't even have to move. Décio Tróia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Palmeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The supporters of Poti SS booed when Marfinzeiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidney Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Pedro Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zézinho Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Palmeira in the 22nd minute of play forced Poti SS's goalkeeper Décio Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If William Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Poti SS's goal looked a bit too open when Digo Moreno came free, but Décio Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Digo Moreno in the 28th minute of play forced Poti SS's goalkeeper Décio Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marfinzeiro's Zé Pedro Pinheiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Marfinzeiro from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Digo Moreno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Décio Tróia was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. William Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Tróia having to interfere. Digo Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Décio Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duarte Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Décio Tróia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Palmeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Marfinzeiro were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zézinho Dias made a kick off. Claudinei Barbosa scored 1-1 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Pedro Pinheiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Marfinzeiro's zone, Zézinho Dias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Pedro Pinheiro came out of the goal and Zézinho Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Poti SS getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Marco Martins hit a great ball. Zézinho Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute, William Palmeira fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Décio Tróia, passed just outside the right post. Claudinei Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 85 minutes of play, Poti SS's Claudinei Barbosa made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Pedro Pinheiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ricardinho Mangueira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zé Pedro Pinheiro. Marfinzeiro's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 93 minutes into the game, João Carlos Campidelis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marfinzeiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poti SS the free kick. In the 93rd minute, João Carlos Campidelis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Zézinho Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Poti SS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
