Falcão Mangueira started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Estevao's goal looked a bit too open when André Luís Koehler came free, but Washington de Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilvan do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Falcão Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Falcão Mangueira in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilvan do Vale saved Almoco EC from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agenor Dias got free with Gilvan do Vale in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Washington de Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chiquinho Santos in the 30th minute of play. Estevao's Washington de Sena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luís Koehler in the 37th minute of play. After some careless play in the Almoco EC defense, Gugu Lopez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilvan do Vale. The Almoco EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilvan do Vale should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Chiquinho Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Washington de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute André Luís Koehler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Washington de Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Estevao's Oséias Carioca got a free kick in the 64th minute. André Luís Koehler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Washington de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilvan do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agenor Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The supporters of Estevao booed when Almoco EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute of the match Percy Dracena shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilvan do Vale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agenor Dias in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilvan do Vale saved Almoco EC from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oséias Carioca during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Estevao getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Oséias Carioca hit a great ball. Gilvan do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Falcão Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Luís Koehler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Washington de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chiquinho Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the game, Maurício Quadros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estevao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Almoco EC the free kick. In the 96th minute, Maurício Quadros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Almoco EC's Chiquinho Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
