After a defensive mix-up in Zororo's zone, Mário Varela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Telmo Queiroz came out of the goal and Mário Varela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th minute, Luís Paulo Mandrak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mário Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Murilo Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Zororo's zone, Mário Varela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Telmo Queiroz came out of the goal and Mário Varela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 28 minutes, Robinho Neiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zororo and the Capoeiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes Zororo got a freekick which was hit by Robinho Neiva. After a rather tough play, Zororo's Luís Paulo Mandrak got a free kick in the 31st minute. Capoeiras's Gabriel Cavalcante couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Zororo. In the 35th minute, Mário Varela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zororo's goalkeeper Telmo Queiroz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Geovani Faustino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Belchior Pombal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Belchior Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovani Faustino, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Zororo's Telmo Queiroz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Zororo from getting a goal against them. Belchior Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giovani Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Telmo Queiroz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mário Varela's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Raí Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Telmo Queiroz having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Geovani Faustino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Belchior Pombal was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. When Giovani Lara came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Zororo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giovani Lara couldn't finish the play.
