In the 6thth minute of the game Gilberto Penha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mundial's Erasmo Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Paraguari EC's Carlos Fernando Varela in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mundial's goalie prevented a goal. Erasmo Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Carlos Fernando Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Erasmo Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erasmo Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Fernando Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Carlos Fernando Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos Fernando Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Fernando Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Queirós having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edvaldo Arósio during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th minute, Edvaldo Arósio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Gilberto Penha sped through Mundial's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Erasmo Queirós. Gilberto Penha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erasmo Queirós having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Carlos Fernando Varela made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Paraguari EC's Renan Gerber got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Carlos Fernando Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Queirós having to interfere. Dráusio de Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelson Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Nelson Antunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raimundo Matorin kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Nelson Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Dráusio de Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Paraguari EC's goal looked a bit too open when Silvinho Ferreira came free, but Dráusio de Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st match minute, Paraguari EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willian Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. Paraguari EC's Dráusio de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvinho Ferreira in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Mundial's Cléber Carioca seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cléber Carioca the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Mundial protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cléber Carioca had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The goalkeeper, Erasmo Queirós, was totally fooled by Paraguari EC's Edinho Motta, who 78 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Sabino Paulista came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Mundial fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sabino Paulista couldn't finish the play. Gilberto Penha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Erasmo Queirós skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Carlos Fernando Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute, Gilberto Penha made a precise shot to the right of Erasmo Queirós. Mundial's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Paraguari EC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
