Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Moacir's Telmo Sena started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hamílton Macedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Telmo Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Paulo Coelho having to interfere. Luiz Paulo Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Telmo Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renato de Queiroz's late challenge caught a Moacir's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renato de Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. 16 minutes into the match, Coxo's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Sena came free, but Luiz Paulo Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 played minutes Coxo got a freekick which was hit by Renato de Queiroz. Luiz Paulo Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Telmo Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Moacir booed when Coxo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Falcão de Medeiros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Paulo Coelho skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Coxo's zone, Telmo Sena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Paulo Coelho came out of the goal and Telmo Sena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reinaldo de Medeiros got free with Luiz Paulo Coelho in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Válter Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Paulo Coelho having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, Moacir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagoberto de Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto de Carvalho in the 42nd minute of play forced Coxo's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Coxo booed when Moacir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute of the match Glauco Vieira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Osmar Lopes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Gustavo Toscano made a kick off. If Hamílton Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Coxo getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Glauco Vieira hit a great ball. Hamílton Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 65 minutes into the match, Moacir's goalkeeper Osmar Lopes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hamílton Macedo. Moacir's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Luís Gustavo Toscano scored to the left of an out of position Osmar Lopes, making the score, 0-1. After 70 played minutes Moacir got a freekick which was hit by Válter Rosado. In the 73rd minute Luís Gustavo Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osmar Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 76 played minutes Moacir got a freekick which was hit by Dagoberto de Carvalho. Válter Rosado kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Luiz Paulo Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Telmo Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. A collision led to Coxo getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Renato de Queiroz hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinaldo de Medeiros in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Paulo Coelho saved Coxo from getting behind. Luiz Paulo Coelho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reinaldo de Medeiros went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Hamílton Macedo made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 94thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Osmar Lopes would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 98th minute, Telmo Sena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Moacir fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1.
