But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edu Sá couldn't finish the play. Armandinho Nóbrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edu Sá in the 9th minute of play. Natanael Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeca Hames having to interfere. Taquaperi SC's Natanael Cearense got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson Vidal in the 17th minute of play forced Aracatiacu EC's goalkeeper Zeca Hames to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Aracatiacu EC's goal looked a bit too open when Jefferson Vidal came free, but Zeca Hames reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wágner Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armandinho Nóbrega having to interfere. Edu Sá struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Armandinho Nóbrega didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aracatiacu EC. 27 minutes into the match, Taquaperi SC's goal looked a bit too open when Edu Sá came free, but Armandinho Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Natanael Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Taquaperi SC's Natanael Cearense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeca Hames narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aracatiacu EC's Zeca Hames played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natanael Cearense in the 40th minute of play. Natanael Cearense scored 0-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zeca Hames, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wágner Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Armandinho Nóbrega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Jefferson Vidal charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jefferson Vidal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th minute Filipe de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armandinho Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeca Hames was a little too slow when Natanael Cearense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Waldemar Araújo got free with Zeca Hames in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edu Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 74 played minutes, Aracatiacu EC's Afonso Félix shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Armandinho Nóbrega came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Aracatiacu EC reached it. Taquaperi SC's Armandinho Nóbrega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Amorim in the 76th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Aracatiacu EC's Edu Sá sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armandinho Nóbrega narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Waldemar Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 91st minute, Waldemar Araújo made a precise shot to the right of Zeca Hames. Aracatiacu EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. The supporters of Aracatiacu EC booed when Taquaperi SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aracatiacu EC's Adalmo Mendes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 98th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Taquaperi SC. The Aracatiacu EC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Taquaperi SC's performance. The match ended with a win for Taquaperi SC.
