After a defensive mix-up in Icaissara's zone, Raphael Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zézinho de Mendonça came out of the goal and Raphael Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Itira's Raphael Fernandes pulled a muscle in his leg after 4 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Eliseu Bittencourt's late challenge caught a Itira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseu Bittencourt helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th match minute, Icaissara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseu Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. After 7 played minutes Icaissara got a freekick which was hit by Jean Leme. If Chico Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. Mauro Diniz charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 26th minute, Rômulo Cosme fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Franklin Carvalho, passed just outside the right post. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luizinho Pitta to strike the kick off in the second half. Franklin Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizinho Pitta in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Rômulo Cosme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Telmo Barros hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Itira's goalkeeper Franklin Carvalho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Chico Favorettos short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Zézinho de Mendonça to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Ricardinho Koehler fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Icaissara's protests and gave Ricardinho Koehler a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Icaissara's Ricardinho Koehler got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 73rd minute, one of Itira:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Itira. In the 74th minute there was a penalty for Icaissara. Paulo José Duarte stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Franklin Carvalho. 2-0. Ricardinho Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Luizinho Pitta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Itira getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Frank Neves hit a great ball. Luizinho Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Carvalho having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Ernesto de Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luizinho Pitta in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franklin Carvalho saved Itira from getting behind. Luizinho Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Franklin Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Rômulo Cosme had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Franklin Carvalho. Itira's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rômulo Cosme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Rômulo Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
