The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the match, Itira's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas Ceresso came free, but Franklin Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cacá Amaral made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Chico Favoretto sent off a good shot on target. Pedrinho Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Franklin Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Douglas Ceresso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Franklin Carvalho was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Cacá Amaral was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Raphael Fernandes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Raphael Fernandes really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. A collision led to Itira getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Raphael Fernandes hit a great ball. When Iuri Mesquita fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itapetininga SC's protests and gave Iuri Mesquita a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 42 minutes, Chico Favoretto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chico Favoretto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Giovanni Madureira hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. 48 minutes into the match, Itapetininga SC's goal looked a bit too open when Raphael Fernandes came free, but Cacá Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raphael Fernandes was the one to do the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Itira's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas Ceresso came free, but Franklin Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedrinho Marques might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Franklin Carvalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedrinho Marques ran back to his position shaking his head. If Chico Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Itira fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Itira's Raphael Fernandes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chico Favoretto in the 66th minute of play forced Itapetininga SC's goalkeeper Cacá Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Chico Favoretto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itira's supporters rose to their feet, but Chico Favoretto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cacá Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedrinho Marques got free with Franklin Carvalho in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77th minute of the match, Douglas Ceresso tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Franklin Carvalho saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Itapetininga SC's Pedrinho Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cacá Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raphael Fernandes in the 81st minute of the match. If Raphael Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Wilson Trancoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Itira were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
