The audience thought a goal was coming when Dinei Jacinto got free with Américo do Nascimento in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joélson Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donatello Rossi to make the kick off. After 79 minutes of play Cururupe EC's Nilton Terra was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 80th match minute, Cururupe EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilton Terra to maneuver through the defense.
