The Daniel Sabóia was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Jerônimo Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Bezerra took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Américo do Nascimento. Nictheroi SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Joel Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Daniel Sabóia made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Joel Lara sent off a good shot on target. Josué Pires struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Nictheroi SS's zone, Jerônimo Neiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Américo do Nascimento came out of the goal and Jerônimo Neiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Josué Pires was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Guarauna's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Donatello Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 77 minutes into the match, Nictheroi SS's goalkeeper Américo do Nascimento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Josué Pires. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Guarauna walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
