The referee gave Alvelos SS a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gustavo da Rocha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Madresilva EC's Márcio Fernandes. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Nóbrega in the 88th minute of play forced Alvelos SS's goalkeeper Délio Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Madresilva EC's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Prado came free, but Márcio Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
