Caetano Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 26 minutes, Frédson Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arariuna FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frédson Paranaense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Frédson Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sabino Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sabino Carneiro was shown his second yellow card after 38 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Arariuna FC booed when Mirity was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sabino Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Mirity's Dadá Cabral got control of the ball when Frédson Paranaense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dadá Cabral made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Frédson Paranaense sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frédson Paranaense made a kick off. Dadá Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frédson Paranaense in the 53rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Frédson Paranaense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dadá Cabral was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 57th minute Frédson Paranaense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dadá Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frédson Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Dadá Cabral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiori de Mendonça in the 88th minute of play forced Mirity's goalkeeper Dadá Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Frédson Paranaense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dadá Cabral. Mirity's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frédson Paranaense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 96th minute Frédson Paranaense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dadá Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Arariuna FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mirity had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
