The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Allan Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Eurico Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Veloso having to interfere. Luisão Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Emanuel Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Luisão Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Jacipora SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Esteirao a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tarcisio Toledo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Jacipora SC's Emanuel Veloso. 0-1. Emanuel Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eurico Vides in the 23rd minute of the match. A collision led to Esteirao getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. José Veloso hit a great ball. After 29 played minutes Jacipora SC got a freekick which was hit by Sandrinho Mesquita. After recieving a nice pass, Esteirao's Tarcisio Toledo tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Eurico Vides managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esteirao's supporters rose to their feet, but Eurico Vides was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Veloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Emanuel Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luisão Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Veloso having to interfere. Reinaldo Reis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but José Paulo Trigo made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Natã Lago stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Reinaldo Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Paulo Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinaldo Reis in the 54th minute of play. After some careless play in the Esteirao defense, Reinaldo Reis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Paulo Trigo. The Esteirao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Paulo Trigo should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Luisão Velasco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuel Veloso was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Reinaldo Reis took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Paulo Trigo. José Paulo Trigo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Reinaldo Reis might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Paulo Trigo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reinaldo Reis ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 71stth minute of the game Luisão Velasco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jacipora SC's Emanuel Veloso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Emanuel Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisão Velasco in the 76th minute of the match. Esteirao's José Paulo Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natã Lago in the 78th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Esteirao players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Jacipora SC.
