In the 18th match minute, Ibiacema FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Prado to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute, Adriano Palmeira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aroeira AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Tarcisio Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabrício Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarcisio Duarte in the 28th minute of play. Adriano Palmeira took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Franklin Torres. Franklin Torres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Adriano Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Franklin Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Palmeira in the 41st minute of play forced Ibiacema FC's goalkeeper Franklin Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toninho Madureira hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Tarcisio Duarte was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 50th minute. Ibiacema FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After the first half Aroeira AD were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adriano Palmeira to strike the kick off in the second half. Amauri Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franklin Torres having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Aroeira AD's Amauri Antunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franklin Torres narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Aroeira AD's Juan Tande got a free kick in the 69th minute. Ibiacema FC's José Pedro Luz couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 70th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Aroeira AD. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Tande during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Aroeira AD getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Juan Tande hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Luiz Paulo Leão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabrício Rezende was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game.
