Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Paraiba's Noel da Rocha started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Aredo SC booed when Paraiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurinho Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. If João Paulo Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glauco de Medeiros took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zé Augusto Veloso. Zé Augusto Veloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paraiba's goalkeeper Bebeto Ortiz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zé Augusto Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glauco de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bebeto Ortiz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Magno Damião. Noel da Rocha took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zé Augusto Veloso. Zé Augusto Veloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Zé Augusto Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel da Rocha in the 38th minute of play. Zé Augusto Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the match, Noel da Rocha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zé Augusto Veloso. Aredo SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Noel da Rocha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. If Noel da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dedê Pirani made a kick off. João Paulo Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 53rd minute João Paulo Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebeto Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maurinho Botelho hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Andrézinho Tinoco was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 57th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Noel da Rocha got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Zé Augusto Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel da Rocha in the 67th minute of play. Noel da Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Glauco de Medeiros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Zé Augusto Veloso made a huge save. João Paulo Salgado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 82 minutes, Glauco de Medeiros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraiba and the Aredo SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd minute, Glauco de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Paulo Salgado scored 1-3 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bebeto Ortiz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Paraiba had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
