In the 5th minute, Júlio Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aredo SC's João Paulo Salgado got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, Aredo SC's goal looked a bit too open when José Vítor Velloso came free, but Zé Augusto Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 9 minutes into the game, Flávio Rosado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aredo SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Serranos the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Aredo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Rosado to maneuver through the defense. Zé Augusto Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Custódio Berger charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Custódio Berger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Aredo SC's Custódio Berger got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute of the match Fellipe Martins shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé Augusto Veloso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Aredo SC's Flávio Rosado got his second yellow card of the match in the 19th minute. The referee ordered Flávio Rosado off the ground. After 19 played minutes Aredo SC got a freekick which was hit by Flávio Rosado. In the 20th minute José Vítor Velloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Serranos fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Serranos's José Vítor Velloso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Vitinho Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Aredo SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Serranos were winning 0-2.

José Vítor Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Veloso having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Vitinho Carvalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Augusto Veloso was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 68th minute, Aredo SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vitinho Carvalho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 84 minutes, Magno Damião mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aredo SC and the Serranos players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Serranos booed when Aredo SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magno Damião didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fellipe Martins took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zé Augusto Veloso. Aredo SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Vitinho Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Zé Augusto Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Vítor Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Veloso having to interfere. The Aredo SC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Serranos's performance. The match ended with a win for Serranos.
