The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Digo Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê Salgado having to interfere. If Digo Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 9 minutes, Rafinha Loyola made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Pitombeira's Dedê Salgado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Bacuriti getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Manoel do Vale hit a great ball. Jorginho Toledo scored 1-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baltazar Freire, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 21st minute Rafinha Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dedê Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baltazar Freire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho Toledo in the 23rd minute of play. If Jorginho Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dedê Salgado didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Bacuriti's Rafinha Loyola shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilberto da Silva got free with Baltazar Freire in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Gilberto da Silva came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Pitombeira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto da Silva couldn't finish the play. Digo Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Dedê Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baltazar Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorginho Toledo in the 48th minute of the match. After the first half Bacuriti were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Gilberto da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Freire having to interfere. Baltazar Freire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Jorginho Toledo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baltazar Freire. Bacuriti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorginho Toledo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Bacuriti's zone, Jorginho Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baltazar Freire came out of the goal and Jorginho Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bacuriti's Baltazar Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Toledo in the 83rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Pitombeira's Murillo Brodel got a free kick in the 90th minute. Digo Meirelless short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got Dedê Salgado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Digo Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Dedê Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
