Simeao AD's Reynaldo Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 6 played minutes Simeao AD got a freekick which was hit by José Pedro da Silva. In the 10th minute of the match José Vítor Vieira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edson Rosado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kléber Maranhense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldinho Viana in the 18th minute. Antônio Carlos Amorim succeeded in the game's 19th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Edson Rosado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramón Gomes in the 25th minute of play. After 32 played minutes Simeao AD got a freekick which was hit by Tony Arruda. Emanuel Guedes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kléber Maranhense. Simeao AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Antônio Carlos Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, Ramón Gomes made a precise shot to the right of Edson Rosado. Cutade's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Tarcisio Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Edson Rosado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramón Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Tarcisio Ramos hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. If Ramón Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Paulo Simão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Luiz Paulo Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Paulo Simão in the 57th minute of play forced Cutade's goalkeeper Edson Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kléber Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Carlos Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edson Rosado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Paulo Simão in the 62nd minute of play. Edson Rosado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Paulo Simão's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Edson Rosado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramón Gomes in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Luiz Paulo Simão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Antônio Carlos Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Antônio Carlos Amorim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kléber Maranhense. Simeao AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antônio Carlos Amorim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Antônio Carlos Amorim took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kléber Maranhense. Kléber Maranhense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antônio Carlos Amorim in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kléber Maranhense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luiz Paulo Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Edson Rosado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cutade's Edson Rosado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo Simão in the 93rd minute of play. A collision led to Cutade getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Emanuel Guedes hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Simeao AD players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cutade.
