Turvinia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Simeao AD the free kick. Duarte do Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Leandro Maia, 5 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Joélson Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Paulo Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Paulo Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Mesquita having to interfere. In the 13th match minute, Turvinia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelinho Braga to maneuver through the defense. If Ramón Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Turvinia getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Duarte do Nascimento hit a great ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Luiz Paulo Simão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Simeao AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Paulo Simão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luiz Paulo Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute of the match José Vítor Vieira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joélson Mesquita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Lucas Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Turvinia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Pires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Turvinia defense, Ramón Gomes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joélson Mesquita. The Turvinia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joélson Mesquita should have stopped the shot. Luiz Paulo Simão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joélson Mesquita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Ramón Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Mesquita having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Simeao AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Turvinia:s goal. When the match had been going on for 50 minutes, Turvinia's Edinho Trancoso got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Kléber Maranhense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ramón Gomes made a kick off. When Wellington Paraense fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Turvinia's protests and gave Wellington Paraense a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Simeao AD's Jonas Hermes got a free kick in the 64th minute. Kléber Maranhense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duarte do Nascimento in the 67th minute of play. After 69 minutes, Nuno Quaresma mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Simeao AD and the Turvinia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nuno Quaresma kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Kléber Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilton Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Wilton Prestes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kléber Maranhense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 84th minute, Lucas Pires made a precise shot to the right of Kléber Maranhense. Simeao AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Ramón Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adalmo Matorin hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Ramón Gomes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Joélson Mesquita when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Reynaldo Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joélson Mesquita having to interfere. The Turvinia players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
