The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cipriano da Fonseca's late challenge caught a Itahum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cipriano da Fonseca helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th match minute, Bambuhy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cipriano da Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Henrique Santana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armandinho dos Santos in the 13th minute. Armandinho dos Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henrique Santana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armandinho dos Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. 20 minutes into the match, Bambuhy's goalkeeper Henrique Santana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armandinho dos Santos. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruno Paraíba during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Bambuhy getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Bruno Paraíba hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute Afonso Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Bambuhy's Sandrinho Koehler got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Itahum getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Nicolas Negri hit a great ball. Henrique Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Machado in the 30th minute of the match. The supporters of Itahum booed when Bambuhy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allan Machado was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. Itahum's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Galvão in the 41st minute of play forced Itahum's goalkeeper Rodolfo Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Sandrinho Koehler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rodolfo Varela was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Afonso Galvão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sandrinho Koehler struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Rodolfo Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bambuhy. When Allan Machado came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Itahum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Allan Machado couldn't finish the play. After 58 played minutes Itahum got a freekick which was hit by Nildo Linhares. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armandinho dos Santos in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henrique Santana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Henrique Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Machado in the 62nd minute of play. If Armandinho dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Bambuhy's zone, Allan Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrique Santana came out of the goal and Allan Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sandrinho Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. When Afonso Galvão came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Bambuhy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Galvão couldn't finish the play. Armandinho dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Santana having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Bambuhy's goal looked a bit too open when Allan Machado came free, but Henrique Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Armandinho dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 92 minutes into the match, Bambuhy's goal looked a bit too open when Armandinho dos Santos came free, but Henrique Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
