After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Paulinho Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luzio's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulinho Sarmento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antônio Mangueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 8th minute, Dráuzio Leão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Milagres SC's Eugênio Borges sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dino Vianna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Eugênio Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. A very good chance. Ademar Pinheiro charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ademar Pinheiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 31 played minutes Paulinho Sarmento rounded Milagres SC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. When Artur Fernandes fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luzio's protests and gave Artur Fernandes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Artur Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 36 minutes of play, Milagres SC's Eugênio Borges made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dino Vianna was left in no man's land by his defense there! Isaltino Trancoso took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dino Vianna. Dino Vianna dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulinho Sarmento was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Milagres SC's Serginho Rosa got a free kick in the 56th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Eugênio Borges dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dino Vianna, 1-3. A collision led to Luzio getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Ademar Pinheiro hit a great ball. Isaltino Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Vianna having to interfere. If Paulinho Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd match minute, Milagres SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugênio Borges to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto Sarmento hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Dráuzio Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Eugênio Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Vianna having to interfere. If Eugênio Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino França was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 91 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Luzio:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Milagres SC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 93 minutes, Milagres SC's Gualter Mangueira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Dino Vianna. 98 minutes into the match, Milagres SC's Isaltino Trancoso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dino Vianna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match was over Milagres SC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Luzio throughout the match.
