When Hamílton Valle fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itapiranga AD's protests and gave Hamílton Valle a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 played minutes Itapiranga AD got a freekick which was hit by Hamílton Valle. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Garrafao SS! If Rômulo Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clóvis Madureira made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Willian Meirelles sent off a good shot on target. Walmir Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Madureira having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Basílio Romero made the kick off in the second half. Willian Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ademir Secco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Itapiranga AD booed when Garrafao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademar Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clóvis Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willian Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Walmir Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willian Meirelles in the 95th minute of play forced Itapiranga AD's goalkeeper Clóvis Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Garrafao SS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Itapiranga AD's performance. The match ended with a win for Itapiranga AD.
