The supporters of Vitorinos booed when Paiano SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amílton Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arí Souto was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 7thth minute of the game Arlindo Machado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vitorinos's Diamantino Saraiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Paiano SC's Reinaldo Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco das Neves in the 9th minute of play. If Caco das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vítor Loureiro hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Arlindo Machado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diamantino Saraiva having to make a save. Diamantino Saraiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Délio Bezerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Barros having to interfere. Diogo Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Délio Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Paiano SC's Reinaldo Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Paiano SC from getting a goal against them. Fred Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After having played for 38 minutes, Délio Bezerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vitorinos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Délio Bezerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vitorinos's Arí Souto shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 43rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Reinaldo Barros but with some difficulty. Délio Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Reinaldo Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Fausto Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Saraiva having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vitorinos's zone, Arlindo Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diamantino Saraiva came out of the goal and Arlindo Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fausto Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vítor Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. If Arlindo Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anísio Peres during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Arí Souto was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 69th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 71st minute, Vitorinos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fausto Bueno fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paiano SC's goalkeeper Reinaldo Barros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, Vitorinos's goalkeeper Diamantino Saraiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arlindo Machado. After a defensive mix-up in Paiano SC's zone, Délio Bezerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaldo Barros came out of the goal and Délio Bezerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Paiano SC's Fausto Bueno slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Diamantino Saraiva. That made the score 1-1 after 85 minutes of play. 89 minutes into the match, Vitorinos's goalkeeper Diamantino Saraiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arlindo Machado. Reinaldo Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco das Neves in the 91st minute of play. In the 96th minute, Fausto Bueno reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Diamantino Saraiva. The goal made the score 1-2. The Paiano SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
