In the 3rd minute, Vitorinos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Zézinho Baiano fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Arí Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zézinho Baiano who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Diamantino Saraiva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 5th match minute, Vitorinos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edinho Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. Diamantino Saraiva was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Luciano Tinoco. Zézinho Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Saraiva having to interfere. Diamantino Saraiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arí Tasso in the 17th minute of play. Diamantino Saraiva made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Zézinho Baiano sent off a good shot on target. In the 21st match minute, Catanduva AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zézinho Baiano to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, Catanduva AD's goal looked a bit too open when Caco das Neves came free, but Felipe do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the game, Arí Tasso recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Diamantino Saraiva. Arí Tasso showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Caco das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute, Luciano Tinoco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caco das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Felipe do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arí Souto hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute of the match Fred Valadares shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diamantino Saraiva showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Felipe do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Délio Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Arí Tasso made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Arí Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catanduva AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arí Tasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Caco das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Vitorinos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caco das Neves couldn't finish the play. Luciano Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Délio Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Délio Bezerra was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Catanduva AD's Arí Tasso in 70 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Diamantino Saraiva guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 76th minute, Zézinho Baiano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diamantino Saraiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 80th minute Zézinho Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Saraiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diamantino Saraiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arí Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After having played for 90 minutes, Vítor Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vitorinos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Loureiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vitorinos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
