But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Recife couldn't finish the play. Mané Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Passos having to interfere. Marquinhos Queiroz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benjamin Passos having to make a save. The supporters of Roncadeira SS booed when Ituporanga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evandro Vergílio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Armando Damião kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. If Vito Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Marquinhos Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Marques struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Benjamin Passos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ituporanga FC. Roncadeira SS's Benjamin Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marquinhos Queiroz in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Marquinhos Queiroz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Roncadeira SS's Benjamin Passos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 54th minute of the match Ituporanga FC got a corner. Roncadeira SS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pedro de Queirós ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Pedro de Queirós got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benjamin Passos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Marquinhos Queiroz put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benjamin Passos. In the 60th match minute, Ituporanga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válter Luz to maneuver through the defense. Lucas Recife's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Danilo de Toledo firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 63rd minute, Celsinho da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Danilo de Toledo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vito Velloso's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Queiroz in the 74th minute of play forced Roncadeira SS's goalkeeper Benjamin Passos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vito Velloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 86th minute, Giovani Sarmento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 87 played minutes, Ituporanga FC's Pedro de Queirós shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benjamin Passos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ituporanga FC reached it. Afonso Marques's late challenge caught a Roncadeira SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Marques helped the player get up and apologised.
