Povoacao's João Vítor de Godoy got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnaldo Tasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celsinho da Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Afonso Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Tasso having to interfere. Ituporanga FC's Marquinhos Queiroz got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Afonso Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute Carlos Fernando Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Celsinho da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marquinhos Queiroz was the one to do the kick off. Afonso Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Tasso having to interfere. Pedro de Queirós hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the game, Ituporanga FC's Afonso Marques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnaldo Tasso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 63 played minutes Povoacao got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Paulo Paulista. Marquinhos Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Arnaldo Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Marquinhos Queiroz notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Povoacao's Arnaldo Tasso. Arnaldo Tasso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Povoacao's Arnaldo Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marquinhos Queiroz in the 75th minute of play. Danilo de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fernando Ortiz in the 78th minute of the match. Afonso Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Tasso having to interfere. Povoacao's Arnaldo Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Povoacao from getting a goal against them. In the 94th minute, Marquinhos Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ituporanga FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
