Vitório Sá went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Capoeiras's Vitório Sá to fire away a dangerous shot which Danilo de Toledo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mané Ceresso got free with Paulinho Penha in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ituporanga FC's Danilo de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Veloso in the 20th minute of play. With a little luck, Capoeiras's Paulinho Penha got control of the ball when Afonso Marques tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ituporanga FC's Válter Luz got a free kick in the 27th minute. Marquinhos Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulinho Penha having to interfere. In the 37thth minute of the game Marquinhos Queiroz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Capoeiras's Paulinho Penha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Afonso Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Paulinho Penha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulinho Penha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marquinhos Queiroz's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Marquinhos Queiroz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulinho Penha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Oscar Antunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capoeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ituporanga FC the free kick. The supporters of Ituporanga FC booed when Capoeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 49 minutes into the match, Capoeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Marquinhos Queiroz came free, but Paulinho Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 56th minute, Zé Augusto Martins reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Danilo de Toledo. The goal made the score 0-1. Vito da Cunha lost his temper 60 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Afonso Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulinho Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marquinhos Queiroz in the 90th minute of the match. With a little luck, Ituporanga FC's Danilo de Toledo got control of the ball when Luizinho Veloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 93 minutes, Mané Ceresso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ituporanga FC and the Capoeiras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 93 played minutes Ituporanga FC got a freekick which was hit by Mané Ceresso. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ituporanga FC had won after a very even match.
